Harry Stuhldreher, Don Miller, Jim Crowley and Elmer Layden made up the powerful backfield of the 1924 Notre Dame football team. The quartet, who played under coaching legend Knute Rockne, were so popular that they became known as the Four Horsemen of Notre Dame.
